Bats perception of time is an outlier in the mammalian world. They spend a lot of their life torpid but when on on the hunt their processing of their environment and reaction times are orders of magnitude greater than us apes.

Re: What's your moreish temptation?
Bats are dangerous, as they have gone down the evolutionary path of tolerating viruses, rather than eliminating them. Thought to be a consequence of their high metabolic rate during flight, which causes mitochondrial DNA to leak out of cells, in a damaged form. If their immune system hadn't been damped down, it would take this damaged DNA as foreign and unleash a cytokine storm against the bat's own cells.

Exactly.

Air is morish, like tartar, which is not a dinner dish because dinner dishes stop the show.

Air.

I've never had a breath, without following it by another.

Surely this can't be healthy...

Not giving a shit about food has saved me massively on not being a fat cunt, as I drink too much which is bad enough for the belly.

Agree with a few posts down though that its impossible to open jaffa caked and not eat all 12 of them.

This lockdown has shown me that cans of cider are also impossible to stop drinking, even when working!!!

Nurse Ratched 8:08 I know lots of people that do that.
Personally I bite along the toffee bit and eat that first then dunk the biscuit in tea.

I don't think I've eaten a Twix or a Marathon bar this century.

Certainly haven't had a Mars bar since the 1980s.

Curious now - I'll have to try it. I'll let you know how I get on.

I'd never heard of it before.
